Meeting New Friends, Exploring New Places

Date August 13, 2009

I’m still recovering from whatever it was I did to my back. In the meantime, I thought you might enjoy seeing some photos from our visit to New York City with Nadia and Jacob.

When we set out on this road trip, we did it with two things in mind: spending time with family in some of the old places we’ve most enjoyed, and meeting new friends and exploring new places along the way. Both have been fun, and each is rewarding in a different way.

I’d love to hear about some of your favorite places — the old ones you’d return to if you had the chance, and the ones you’ve been planning to visit. Thanks!

Looks like you guys are having a great time, despite the back! There’s a lot of people sending you lots of healing vibes, so hopefully that’s helping a little.

I’m off on an adventure myself this morning. Perhaps I’ll have a new Guest post for you when I return ;)

Your photos are fun! Its nice to see you here this morning, Lisis. We all miss having you around – I do. And look, there’s your family, and Nadia and Jacob, too!

Seeing the photos of NYC makes me want to plan a trip back there. Also, if I had the chance, I’d love to go back to the Czech republic where my grandparents grew up – beautiful country.

There’s a lot of us out there banging our tom toms for you, Lisis. Take care of that back and I wish you continued recovery.

    Hi Lisis,

It is hard to believe that all of these thing took place a week ago. Just seems like yesterday. We had a wonderful time.

I hope that you are feeling better and like Jay and Lori said, lots of us are sending you tons of healing energy! I know I am. :)

    Hi, Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m on the mend, finally, and totally speechless (well, mostly speechless) about the ton of emails, tweets, and other forms of emotional support I’ve been receiving from all of you. Most days I could log on just long enough to read comments and clear out inboxes, so I’ve seen all that’s been going on in my virtual “absence”.

I know some of you have some guest posts planned, and that thrills me beyond words. It’s kinda like, when you plan a really big party, and you make all the arrangements, and you spend all day cooking and making guacamole, and just when the party starts to get fun… you get sick. You end up missing most of the party, but it’s great to know your guests are still there and having a wonderful time, instead of having to go home bummed and having to throw away most of the food.

You know what I mean? I could be a bit delirious still from the meds, but the point is… I’m eternally grateful to all of you.

I look forward to being back up and running normally soon.

    Big Hugs,
    me
    :)

I love your pictures, they make me feel part of it all. Great way to describe the situation you are in, having a party prepared and then getting sick but knowing you have done a great job by creating a wonderful place for your friends to hang out. So we will honor your efforts and enjoy them.
